College Hill Cakery

College Hill Cakery (CHC) is a mother daughter trio, woman-owned bakery located in College Hill in Cincinnati, Ohio. After Kathy retired from her legal position at the University of Cincinnati, she returned to the classroom to pursue a degree in pastry arts while starting her home bakery business. She obtained a Pastry Arts Degree in 2015 from the Midwest Culinary Institute at Cincinnati State as daughter (Jamie) and daughter-in-law (Alicia) finished graduate school and obtained their degrees. Jamie has a doctoral degree in physical therapy and Alicia has a master’s in biological sciences. They all have different areas of expertise but have always shared a love for baking and creating irresistible recipes.

 

In 2014, they met the owners of Ruth’s Parkside Café in Northside and began supplying them with cakes. Shortly thereafter, Cincinnati Magazine awarded College Hill Cakery’s Original Gooey Buttercake with a ‘Best Damn Dessert’ title! CHC expanded to a brick-and-mortar location in 2023. Since then, demand has grown and they've done countless private orders for special occasions, birthdays, and weddings, while continuing to provide baked goods to restaurants and coffee shops in the Cincinnati area.
