St. Francis Apizza
I started what has become St. Francis Apizza in the living room of my house in 2018, cooking up elaborate pizza dinners for friends, and friends of friends. My wife and I are both from Cincinnati and moved back home in June 2020. I was fortunate to connect with the owners of Oakley Wines, who agreed to let me sell pizzas out of the wine bar's kitchen every Sunday. The success of the pop-up reaffirmed my excitement for opening a pizzeria in the area. We opened our brick and mortar at 3392 Erie in February 2021 with the goal of being a great neighborhood pizzeria for East Hyde Park.
The dough is mixed and shaped in house every day, and the toppings are the best we can find, often from local farmers like Foxtail Farms and Roothouse Aquaponics. My staff and I make sure our pizzas are always crispy, yet light and airy, with plenty of fresh basil on top to finish.
