What is an Italian Cheese Torta?

Caruso’s signature Italian Cheese Torta is a unique frozen hors d’oeuvres which you simply thaw and serve. It consists of an herbed cream cheese blend layered with our signature nut-free pesto and sun dried tomatoes wrapped in a lightly smoked provolone. The torta is gluten and nut-free.

The tortas are hand-crafted using a meticulous five-step process. They are great with crackers or sliced baguettes. They are also delicious when stuffed in a mushroom cap and baked, or as a filling for chicken or pork chops.

They are frozen and can be kept in the freezer for six months well-wrapped. The tortas make a perfect appetizer to keep on hand for any occasion. They can serve 10-15 people or can be cut to serve a smaller group. Each torta has a label with the ingredients and instructions for preparation.

Ingredients: Cream cheese (pasteurized cultured milk and cream, salt, stabilizers: xanthan and/or carob bean and/or guar gums), smoked provolone cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, natural smoke flavor), Parmesan cheese (pasteurized part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), powdered cellulose (anti-caking agent), olive oil, basil, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and spices. Contains: Milk

Does Not Contain: Gluten or Nuts

Thawing & Serving Instructions

Room Temperature Thawing:

Remove torta from package. Place on suitable plate and allow 4 to 5 hours to thaw. Store in refrigerator after thawing.

Refrigerator Thawing:

Remove torta from package. Place on suitable plate and allow 24 hours to thaw. Keep in refrigerator after thawing.

Lasts up to 6 months in the freezer well-wrapped. Use thawed torta within 7 to 10 days. For smaller portions, partially thaw until the outside layer is soft, divide into halves or quarters, then refreeze the portion to be saved.

Best served with unflavored crackers.

    I love the torta!! The two pack is perfect. I was able to throw one in the freezer and enjoy the other one same day. It made for a perfect appetizer that my whole family enjoyed. I was very impressed with how fast the shipping was and how fresh the product was. I can’t wait to order again! 10/10 recommend!
