SERVATII'S PASTRY SHOP
Servatii Pastry Shop & Bakery began with Wilhelm Gottenbusch, a German Master Baker who brought his family’s time-honored recipes from Münster, Germany to Cincinnati in 1963. What started as a small one-man shop on Observatory Avenue has grown into one of the city’s most beloved bakeries. Rooted in European tradition, Servatii built its reputation on quality and craftsmanship — from hand-crafted breads proofed for 24 hours to rich pastries and Bavarian pretzels made from authentic recipes passed down through generations.
Today, Servatii remains a family-run business led by the Gottenbusch family’s second and third generations. They continue to bake fresh daily, uphold their peanut-free promise, and give back to the community through daily donations of leftover baked goods. More than 60 years later, Servatii still embodies the same passion for excellence and hometown warmth that began in that first Hyde Park bakery — a Cincinnati tradition, baked fresh every day.
