MONTGOMERY INN
The Montgomery Inn story began in 1951 when Ted Gregory transformed a small Montgomery tavern, McCabe’s Inn, into a destination for rib lovers. With his wife Matula’s signature sauce, the once-modest spot quickly became a Cincinnati staple, drawing locals, celebrities, and even presidents.
In 1989, the Gregory family expanded with The Boathouse on the Ohio River, pairing their famous ribs with scenic riverfront views. The Boathouse soon became as beloved as the original, blending tradition with an elevated dining experience.
Today, both locations stand as landmarks of Cincinnati dining—places where generations gather to celebrate, share, and make memories. The legacy of Ted and Matula lives on in every meal, making Montgomery Inn not just a restaurant, but a treasured part of the city’s soul.
