A Cincinnati tradition since 1946, Glier’s Original Goetta is the iconic German-American breakfast sausage that locals grew up with. Made from a savory blend of pork, beef, steel-cut oats, and spices, this hearty classic is slow-cooked to create its unmistakable texture and flavor.

Pan-fry it until golden and crispy on the outside while staying tender on the inside—it’s perfect alongside eggs, in sandwiches, or as the star of your brunch table. For generations, Glier’s has been the go-to name for authentic goetta, delivering the same old-world recipe that’s made it a Midwest favorite for over 75 years.

Available in sets of 6 or 12 single pound rolls of Glier's Original Goetta!

Glier's Goetta Cooking Instructions

Works with original, hot, and turkey Goetta

  1. Slice the Goetta into half-inch patties, making sure they do not touch each other (so that they will not stick together)
  2. Place the patties in a non-stick skillet that has been preheated to a medium temperature, 350 degrees.
  3. Let it cook for about 6 minutes, allowing the first side to brown completely.
  4. Flip, and brown the other side until crisp.
  5. When both sides are golden brown, the Goetta is ready to enjoy.
